Whoa, I have not posted in a long time! I must paint faster in the future.
Thank you all for your supportive words. They are appreciated.
This country woman looks sort of lonely to me. She is waiting for rain, her lawn is a little scruffy and she has a radish patch out back that is dry. I probably would be lonely too. painting all by myself, but I have my companion, Mango.
While I paint Mango surfs the net – “Looking for fine bitches”, he tells me. When I told him to watch his language, he replied, “Get a dictionary grandpa. Oh, never mind, you are too old and I’m busy skyping this little beauty.”
I’ve got to get back to painting now. If I can finish another one this year that will be two, and in a row mind you.
On Painting 
Lovely girl and handsome Mango. He can surf and find my two bitches, although they are both spayed and a little out of his size range, unless he likes the Amazon type.
Good to see you again. I can totally relate, I haven’t post much this entire year. Stress does that. I should use the blog as an outlet, eh? (because who really reads all this stuff?)

good to see this post after such a long time… though i must admit you provided us with a clever set up to throw us off the scent and guessing who the real artist is.
this is a lovely composition and i love the play of light on her skin and clothes as well as on the grass. the tree reminds me of a tree i knew as a child…. beautiful work Bill….could you tell Mango please once you have finished looking at those doggy pictures?

Glad to have you back, Bill! Looks like “painting a memory” and I feel welcomed. I have three great companions about the same size as Mango. I’ll have to catch them up on computer literacy now that I see Mango can do this.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I want to live in this painting… even with the dry radish patch. A little mulch will perk it right up! DOn’t keep us waiting so long for the next one.

Carol – maybe you know that woman. Do you garden? Mango does act exactly like a cat. He does not acknowledge a single command. And, when I dropped him from the second floor window he landed on his feet all three times (I gave up).

Danu – good to be back even if not in the same old form. I watched an episode of Hung last night. I’m looking for a change of profession but don’t think that will be the one for me.

Bill, now that I have seen your blog, you must post more often. I laughed myself silly reading some of your posts and comments (thus increasing your view numbers for you) from the past. I needed a laugh today. Your paintings are delightful, as is your blog.
Mango looks quite happy as boss of the computer. Does he let you at it much or does he keep it for his own amusement.

This is quite a lovely painting, Bill, and, especially after your long absence, I am very curious about the inspiration. Waiting for rain doesn’t seem to be quite accurate, as that grass is very green. Maybe “Rain” is her sweetheart?

Diana – thank you. The grass is greenish because she waters with one of those tin sprinkler cans. It is that background field of hand planted radishes that needs water. She is leaning against the tree because she is pooped out from planting. Their mule died last winter.

Cathyann – glad you missed me! She does look a little like Rahina. probably because of the black hair. I worked on a portrait of Rahina last year so maybe a little of that came out of muscle memory. It had to be muscle memory because my regular memory can’t keep squat for future use.
Good to see you back again Bill! Mango looks like he is taking credit for painting your painting, you had better watch him.

100swallows – thanks. I will be back soon. Right now have to relocate to AZ and all my paint stuff is in storage.
Connie – thanks. Shit, I should not show Mango, he gets all the attention wherever we go.
Dawn – My wife and daughter have complained for years that I have not painted Mango. He is just a little ball of fur which doesn’t seem to me to be a good painting subject. I want at least some edges to work with.
Marian – We are in the process of moving from CA to AZ so it will be awhile before I can get set up to paint and post. Then I will have time to be way more active in blogging my wiffledust again. My wife and I were both fired at about the same time which has forced us into retirement. A little painful at first to find you are not valued in the workplace, but a few Monday morning walks and the realization you are free to do as you wish improves the world view immensely.
WOW… Well, I’m hoping all goes well with your relocation and that you settle in to something you can enjoy and that will keep you with a roof over your heads.

Well, some sunshine anyway. It rained today. I checked the forecast and it said 0% chance of rain while it was raining. Last week it said 100% chance of rain one day and it was not raining. Somebody has this forecast business backwards. At least it is not snow!

Mary – glad you enjoyed it. Mango is precious but a big pain in the ass most of the time.
Eda – hi, thanks. Mango won’t be a help finding my inspiration if he has to use his nose. It is useless. He can’t track hot cheese drawn across the carpet. NO, not in my house, the neighbor’s. I’m not painting because no good place to paint and busy remodeling a new home. After months of work to sell old house we have to repeat the process in the new home. Redoing all flooring and all bathrooms, meanwhile living on concrete floor. After paying a premium for a north/south facing orientation of house, I find all the windows are tinted. I’m going tomorrow to look for skylight solution for my studio. When all is complete I will be painting and complaining with regularity. Don’t know what the painting quality will be but the bitching will be top notch.
